PHOTOGRAVURE PRINTING

Email us at hello@printsonpaper.studio to get started.

Photogravure is an art medium unto itself. Working in the medium through a direct-to-plate workflow grants artists the ability to place a wide range of marks on a continuous tone plate. From photographic to hand drawn marks, this medium offers limitless opportunities in terms of rendering any range of tonality in the etching process. Prints on Paper Studio’s staff is committed to pushing and expanding this medium so that it can be used to achieve any artist's creative vision.

Our gravure plates can be printed on a wide variety of paper and artificial materials. This medium's unique ability to render distinct tonalities allows it to surpass other photographic-process mediums. We are open to all types of experimental projects be it multiple-plates or hand coloring.

As a print technology innovator, Prints On Paper leads the way in efficiency and quality. This enables us to edition work very quickly and with precision. Nathanael and Walker are multi-seat printmakers who enjoy the collaborative environment as well as the repetitive nature of edition printing (and ehem . . . packing/shipping). There is a very high level of follow-through from the first conversation with an artist to the final signed print.

Platemaking

Our pre-made photogravure plates are of the highest available quality. We can custom print any type of image onto a .95mm polymer plate. We are constantly innovating our process to give clients the highest resolution image on their plate. While best practices exist when it comes to image-making for photogravure plates, in general working with a direct-to-plate workflow ensures that all the tonalities you see on your screen are what you can expert in your final etching print. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
